Beginning Our Trip
Yesterday marked the start of our journey to California. We set out from Kerrville, making our way through Sonora, Van Horn, and Anthony, before crossing into New Mexico.
Midway Point: Lordsburg
Our halfway stop for the day was in Lordsburg, a town that we affectionately refer to as “Radiator Springs.”
Travel Traditions
As is our tradition, we listened to the Bob Newhart Anthology “Something Like This….” We first saw Bob Newhart perform during our honeymoon, and he was fantastic. My favorite bit from the anthology is “Introducing Tobacco to Civilization,” but “Abe Lincoln vs. Madison Avenue,” “Driving Instructor,” and “Bus Drivers School” are also standout routines that we always enjoy.
Traveling with the Puppers
Along our route, each Love’s Travel Stop we visited featured a dog park, which meant our pup had plenty of opportunities to stretch his legs and take breaks. However, getting him out of the SUV we are driving was a bit of a challenge.
